Golden Gate Bird Alliance’s education programs provide unique opportunities for Bay Area residents and visitors alike to learn about our local wildlife and the natural world. From Zoom to the classroom to the Bay, learn with GGBA!
Youth Education
GGBA is on a mission to grow the next generation of environmental stewards to protect birds, other wildlife and the land. Getting youth outside and into nature is at the heart of our youth education model, exemplified by our award-winning Eco-Ed program: providing hands-on experiences for elementary students at Title I schools in the Bay Area.
Adult Classes
Each season we offer a range of birding classes from intro courses (basic bird ID) for those completely new to the activity, to more advanced/topic-specific opportunities for the seasoned birdwatcher! Most of our instructor-led classes include online lectures AND weekend birding trips to destinations around the Bay Area and sometimes beyond!
Every third Thursday at 7pm, Golden Gate Bird Alliances hosts a guest lecturer via Zoom (and on occasion in-person) to speak on a bird-related and/or conservation-based topic. GGBA Speaker Series events are free to attend and are often recorded and made available on our Youtube Channel.
