Join Golden Gate Bird Alliance and East West Birding Tours during the peak
of SE Arizona’s famous “Second Spring” — the Monsoon Rain Season! Hummingbird numbers and diversity are at their highest… White-eared, Berylline, Anna’s, Costa’s, Violet-crowned,
Rivoli’s, Broad-tailed, Lucifer, Broad-billed, Black-chinned, Calliope, Rufous, and Blue-throated Mountain-gem are all possible! Late breeders are singing and conspicuous: Five-striped Sparrow, Botteri’s Sparrow, Varied Bunting, Sulphur-bellied Flycatcher, Cassin’s Sparrow, and much more! Many of our local and migrant breeding birds use the bounty brought by the rains to raise a second brood. Huge agave stalks are in blossom, the grasslands green up,and wildflowers abound.
This is one of GGBA’s new class of trips called “Home Base”. You will stay in the same lodging (Ramsey Canyon Inn) for the entirety of the trip. Think how relaxing it will be to not have to pack/unpack/lug luggage every day or two. Instead, you will spend your evening, in a comfortable patio chair, watching 10 or more species of hummingbirds at Ramsey Canyon Inn’s many feeders.
